The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) may have ended already, but this year’s eight annual Just For Laughs 2019 Comedy Festival (JFL42) presented by SiriusXM has only just kicked-off! Offering fans and frequent comedy-goers alike a jam packed lineup of hilarious acts and some of the more well-known names in comedy as headliners in Toronto this fall, here are two reasons why you should fit some time in over the next week to attend a (few) show(s) (got to get your money’s worth, right?) at one of the Festivals’ many venues for more than just a few good laughs:
This Years’ Headliners/Talent. Oh man, just wait until you hear this. The Festival really outdid itself this year. Many of these now household name comics and stars on the rise have developed quite the reputation (or notoriety), and you’ve probably enjoyed many Netflix specials from a few of them. This year, JFL42 welcomes over six major well-established headliners including John Mulaney, Gabriel Iglesias, How Did This Get Made?, Nick Kroll, Marc Maron, Eric Andre, along with very special and fabulous guests Carol Burnett and Margaret Trudeau.
And, that doesn’t even include ‘The 42’ additional comics performing their (new) sets throughout the week. These individuals have been featured in well-known movies and TV series (as guest appearances), often perform live on tour, and some even have their own comedy specials currently streaming on Netflix, just like the wonderfully hilarious headliners. We won’t give away any more names, so we encourage you to check out the complete roster of comics and what they’ll be up to this week by using the links provided in this post. Unreal…with a well rounded lineup like this, you can be assured that passes will sell out quickly!
Another thing – shows are always being added!
ComedyCon Events. This fourth annual daytime series back by popular demand is offering a broad mix of over 25 highly engaging InCoversations with some of today’s comedy masters, interactive Q&A sessions, cool cast panels, live podcasts, and much, much more, open to all festival attendees.
The Just For Laughs 2019 Festival runs from September 19 to 29, 2019, and you must choose and purchase one of the various pass packages offered in order to attend, so don’t forget! You will find all options available by visiting the Festival’s official website, and how to choose your festival experience right here. Also know that acts on each day of the Festival are taking place at select intimate and sophisticated venues throughout Toronto. Now go on out, have a great time, and bring back a few “appropriate” (and workplace friendly – that’s very important) jokes/stories to your family, friends, and workplace colleagues. Hahahahaha!
